The U.S. National Library of Medicine estimates that about 65% of the human population has a reduced ability to digest lactose after infancy (1). It is becoming increasingly common to replace cow’s milk with different milks - coconut milk, almond milk, and oat milk, to name a few.
Going to boarding school as a boarder is an exciting, albeit nerve wracking, experience. Parents of boarders stress the importance of their children staying as healthy as possible during their time away from home, and it can be a difficult task if the boarding school does not contract a food service management company who has the best interest of everyone that is affected by service.
Some prominent memories are created for students attending four-year colleges in the dining hall. It’s where students are able to come together before or after a long day of class and feel included with diverse menus. Providing a safe environment where students feel welcome is not only the job of the college itself, but also of the food service management company. We at GKM are prepared to give some insight as to how we do just that.
Some schools are starting back up in the coming fall, and it is important, not only as a food service management company, but as human beings, to provide the same quality food service while helping prevent the spread of COVID-19. We want to focus on making our two and four year college diners feel at ease in the presence of our dining facilities.
