It’s no secret that technology has been advancing since its first creation. It now impacts virtually every aspect of our lives; some may presume this is a bad thing, where others see it as a blessing. However your personal feelings transpire onto technology and its rapid growth in our society, it’s undeniable that it has potential to be incredibly beneficial if used in the correct way. For instance, the tech world continues to both enhance and revolutionize foodservice everyday. In particular, food apps are rapidly taking over and making things like food delivery or food pick up a breeze. This is especially true for foodservice management. We at GKM have specifically found that two apps have made everyone’s lives involved much easier. 1. NutrisliceNutrislice can be found on the app store and is compatible with iOS devices. It’s an app that provides real time menus as well as online ordering for many different facilities. This undoubtedly revolutionizes foodservice; for managed service companies like GKM, this allows us to work directly with the app to post menus and make for a smoother experience for our clients. It's overall a win/win situation for every party involved. 2. OurHouseOurHouse is different in that it is specifically geared towards Sorority and Fraternity meal plans, but who knows what it may one day branch out to? It’s a great way to not only keep track of your Greek Life in general, but it also provides us (again, companies like GKM) with the ability to provide you with amazing tools like LatePlate requests. These are requests specifically sent to our in-house chefs that offer meals after the set meal times. This could be viewed as a healthy alternative to a late night fast food run, which is why we love it so much. Keeping the people we feed the healthiest and best version of themselves is our goal.
These are just two examples of apps that are completely revolutionizing the foodservice industry. There are so many others that could be named because technology is taking over the food industry. It can be a good or a bad thing depending on which way you choose to view it, but we at GKM believe its pros definitely outweigh its cons.
