The Importance of Monotony Breakers in Food Service

It is easy to get caught up in the same routines day after day. Do not get us wrong - routines can be a very productive aspect of one’s life. However, when the routine includes your food it is best to switch it up every now and then.
This is especially true when it comes to your facility’s food service. Diners simply do not want to eat the same thing everyday, and they also want something to look forward to. Monotony breakers provided by your food service provider are essential for that reason. GKM provides numerous options, but we are glad to work directly with your team to find the schedule that fits your desires and budget. Some examples are:

1. Action Stations

Action stations are meal stations that require some sort of action from either the chef or the diners including cooking, mixing, adding toppings, or plating. Interchangeable action stations allow for a fun change of pace and a more interactive dining experience.

2. Theme and Holiday Celebrations

We can bring a kick to the kitchen by making mundane days a celebration. We can host various theme and holiday celebrations with fun decorations and themed food where diners can enjoy themselves.

3. Using Beyond Meat™ Products

We are seeing increasing amounts of diners cutting certain meats completely out of their diet, whether that be by becoming vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian. We can offer Beyond Meat™ products on a regular schedule, allowing for a more inclusive kitchen.

4. Guest Chefs

Hosting guest chefs from local restaurants at your facility is not only a great way to shake up the menu, but a simple way to establish and maintain connections with your community.

5. Cultural Themes

Exposing diners to diverse cultures is essential. Cultural themes provide us an opportunity to educate and open up the door to conversations about different cultures while serving delicious food.
GKM is here for all of your food service needs, and we are also here to keep your dining experience fun!
