Overall, there are many health benefits of switching to gluten-free diets. It also has the potential to aid in weight loss.
3. Global Benefits
There are even some global benefits of cutting gluten out of one’s diet, too. One loaf of bread’s carbon footprint alone ranges from 977 to 1,244 CO2, according to ResearchGate. The fertilizer for growing wheat in general accounts for 43% of greenhouse gas emissions, according to experts. Overall, cutting wheat out for a gluten-free diet may just be helping the planet!
